Drawing on previous work, I will first return to a terminological proposal to better distinguish different modalities of our relationship to a discipline: inter-, multi-, etc. (Létourneau, 2008; 2010; 2021; Thompson-Klein and Frodeman, 2017). I will then outline a conception of practical philosophy according to which it is defined by its relationship of exchange with autonomous disciplinary fields that correspond to the work of ethical, political, epistemological, communicational and economic reflection, and this according to certain problems or projects. These works are at the same time fully philosophical, and marked by other disciplines. However, the main aim of this presentation is to situate the philosophical contribution, including the reception of relevant works of reflection in the various fields of object or possible fields of intervention, distinguishing between scientific contributions and contributions of practical expertise. In conclusion, we will attempt to show what philosophical involvement in the debate and actions concerning biodiversity would entail.
